Chris Brown is Glasswoman

A Stained Glass artist living and working in Ferring, West Sussex.

I love glass and its properties.

I am always exploring new ideas often using traditional techniques.

I have a kiln which allows me to do traditional glass painting and glass fusing both of which I can incorporate into a design.

I feature in a new book: Thomas Heatherwick, Making, 2012, click projects page

Take a walk along the beach and up onto Worthing pier.

In early 2009, I was commissioned by Worthing Arts Council

to design and make two glass panels,

which are now installed in the central partition on the pier.

They commemorate the sinking of the Ice Prince and the wood

that washed ashore in January 2008.

This is my first public art and I feel very honoured to have

my work on permanent display in my home town.

Would you like to commission a stained glass window to go on Worthing Pier?

The subject needs to be linked to Worthing and its history.

Windows I have made on the pier:

Jane Austen window                                 Renaissance WI window

St Andrews High School:

Would your group like to be represented?

Would you like to remember a loved one?

Would your school like to do a project on stained glass or run a design competition?

What would you like to see remembered from Worthing's past?

Contact me to discus ideas.

Approximately £500 per panel and loads of space on the pier.

This is a rare opportunity to have a permanent window on Worthing Pier; so come on get your thinking heads on and contact me:
